Product Application | It serves as an excellent corrosion inhibitor and scale inhibitor in circulating cooling water and boiler water. It also acts as a stabilizer for peroxides and chlorine dioxide disinfectants. When used alone in compound formulations, there is no need to add dispersants, and the dirt accumulation remains minimal. |

It is an orange viscous liquid with an ammonia odor and a density of 1.35 (50% aq.). It has a boiling point of 1003.3±75.0 °C and a flash point of 560.6°C. It is miscible with water and can form stable complexes with various metal ions. It is stable in strong acid-base medium and has a decomposition temperature of 220-228 °C.
DTPMP is mainly used as a cathodic corrosion inhibitor and a scale inhibitor in alkaline circulating cooling water, where it can chelate metal ions and prevent the formation of carbonate and sulfate scale.
It can also be used as a hydrogen peroxide stabilizer, a metal cleaning agent, a detergent additive, a metal ion chelating agent, a cyanide-free electroplating additive, and a precious metal extractant.
It has good synergistic effect with polycarboxylate and nitrite, and has good scale inhibition performance in alkaline solution (pH 10~14). It is a versatile and efficient phosphonic acid for various industrial applications.
DTPMP has moderate toxicity and can irritate the eyes and skin. It should be avoided contact with eyes and skin, and protective measures should be taken during operation. It should be rinsed with plenty of water in case of accidental contact.
